‘Finding Festivals’ Accepted by The National Educational Telecommunications Association for National Distribution

Local producer and show host Haylie Robinson’s Finding Festivals airing again on WGTE Public Media

WGTE Public Media is proud to re-air the full 13-episode season of Finding Festivals, created by local producer and show host Haylie Robinson. The program is now available through The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), a nationwide program distribution service to members, public television stations and independent producers. Episodes are available for streaming at wgte.org/findingfestivals.

Host and executive producer Haylie Robinson states, "Exploring these festivals felt like unveiling hidden gems within the heartland of America. Every episode, and every festival brought a new sense of discovery and community. It’s a true privilege to share these stories and shine a spotlight on the diverse cultures and rich traditions that flourish in the Midwest. I hope that Finding Festivals will not just entertain, but also illuminate the threads of unity and heritage that bind us all, encouraging viewers to dive into the vibrant tapestry of American festivals.”

Finding Festivals uses annual events to educate viewers on art, heritage, culture, community agriculture and history. The travel genre television program aims to spark, intrigue and inspire audiences to engage with their own community events. Season highlights include participating in an intertribal dance at the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe Annual Pow Wow, learning about women’s roles in building Jeeps during WWII and touring a historical replica of the U.S. Brig Niagara.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with local producers and assist with providing resources to elevate their programs to potential viewers nationwide,” says WGTE Director of Content and Creative Services Ray Miller. “As a member of NETA, we have access to educational, informational and entertaining content and Finding Festivals will now be part of that library. We look forward to other PBS affiliates across the country, especially in our region, choosing to offer this series for their viewers.”

Through NETA’s distribution service, Finding Festivals will be offered for PBS stations across the country. Programmers have access to hundreds of independently produced programs to air on TV and their website.
