Set Up a Free, Virtual
eLearning Science Lab
Set up a virtual, on-line science lab for free with resources available on the Web. The Web has an abundance of free, on-line activities that address the Science Academic Standards for Earth and Space Science, and Physical Sciences, grades 7-12. Educators are able to use interactive, virtual tools, to supplement the science classroom lab. along with applications to package them for use in Content Management Systems.
Tony Pisano, Director of the Educational Resource Center presented a concurrent session that highlighted some of the best applications. Links to these resources are provided for everyone who was not able to atended the session.
An Out-of-This World Science Lesson
As part of the COSI-Toledo resource providers event, Educator’s CIRCLE, the WGTE Educational Resource Center presented a hands-on science session for elementary and middle-school science teachers. In this free, 20-minute session, educators learned how to have their students collect, in their own backyards, authentic samples of outer-space objects, and to study these in the classroom.
Attendees can download the session handouts.
