Jacqueline Pollauf, harp

Jacqueline Pollauf is an active soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician performing primarily throughout the mid-Atlantic area. Jacqueline has appeared with many orchestras including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Newark Symphony Orchestra, and the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. She has also played a wide variety of opera and choral music, including performing with the Baltimore Opera Company, Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale, the Cathedral Choir at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and the Opera Vivente in Baltimore, Maryland.
As principal harpist of the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Jacqueline has had the opportunity both to tour and record with the orchestra. She is featured on their recent Naxos recording - Howard Hanson: Organ Concerto.
The winner of numerous awards, in February of 2006, Jacqueline won the harp division of Baltimore Music Club Competition. She has also won several concerto competitions, including the Newark Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition in 2004, the Firelands Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition in 2004, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition in 2001, and the Toledo Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition in 2002 and 2001. Honors associated with these concerto competitions included a solo performance with each orchestra.
An active teacher, Jacqueline is on the faculty of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the Maryland Conservatory of Music. She also maintains a private harp and piano studio.
Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Music in harp performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Music at the Peabody Conservatory where she studies with Ruth K. Inglefield. She has also studied with Kathleen Bride of the Eastman School of Music and Julie Kemp Buzzelli of Bowling Green State University.
