Jill Felber, flute and Dianne Frazer Cross, piano

Jill Felber has been hailed for her "beautifully finished performances" by The Detroit News and has been praised by Musical America for her "handsome performance." "Played with flair" (The Los Angeles Times), "the incredible flutist…the dazzling flutist…the radiant flutist Jill Felber" (The Independent, Santa Barbara), is known to excite audiences everywhere.

She has performed solo recitals, chamber music, and concertos on four continents and has held residencies in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, Mexico, France, Switzerland, Great Britain and the United States. A tireless promoter of new music, Ms. Felber has inspired many composers to write solo and chamber works for her and is currently engaged in many commissioning projects. She has premiered over three hundred works for the flute and has released world premiere recordings for Centaur Records, CRI, and Neuma Records.

Active in the National Flute Association, Ms. Felber recently served as an elected member to its Board of Directors and served as the 1993 Program Chair for the Boston convention. Holding degrees from University of Michigan and Bowling Green State University, Ms. Felber has taught on the faculties of Ohio University, Capital University, and Wright State University. She is currently Professor of Flute at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Principal Flute with the Santa Barbara Grand Opera. Her teachers include Keith Bryan, Judith Bentley and James Galway.

As a collaborative artist, Dianne Frazer Cross has appeared in recital with numerous musicians from all over the world and has been a staff pianist for the Society of Bassists, the National Flute Association, the International Trumpet Guild, the International Hornists Society, the American School of Double Bass, Lancaster Festival, the Central Ohio Flute Association, and most recently, the World Bass Festival in Poland. She is a member of Basso Bravo and the Cross-Meidar Duo, touring extensively in the United States and Israel. She is pianist for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra and Opera Columbus.
