Ilya Blinov, pianist

Ilya Blinov, from Nizhny Novgorod (formerly Gorky), Russia, began his musical studies at age of six. A graduate of the Music College of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire, he was the recipient of a special prize at the 2003 International Piano Competition in Tolyatti, Russia. In addition, he has presented recitals in Russia in Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Yaroslavl, Penza, Kostroma and St. Peterburg, and in Paris at the Yamaha Center. Most recently, as a winner of the 39th Annual Competition in Music Performance, he performed Prokofiev's Second Piano Concerto with the Bowling Green Philharmonia. On April 29th, he will perform Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto with the Bowling Green Symphony. He is currently a first-year master's candidate in piano performance at Bowling Green State University, a student of Maxim Mogilevsky.
