René Schiffer, cello, and *Stefan Kasch, piano

Rene Schiffer studied with the renowned baroque cellist Anner Bylsma, receiving soloist diplomas with honors in both modern and baroque cello from the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. He is a member of La Petite Bande (Sigiswald Kuijken), with whom he has performed throughout the world and as gamba soloist for European television. He has also performed with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Les Musiciens du Louvre, in over thirty projects with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Opera Atelier of Toronto. He is also Principal Cellist in Apollo's Fire - the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra. Rene Schiffer can be heard on the Harmonia Mundi, Phillips, Virgin Classic, Erato and Sony labels, as well as Apollo's Fire recordings.
Stefan Kasch, a graduate of the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music, served as a ballet repititeur for the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen, Denmark, for 18 years. He also served as a keyboard player with the Royal Danish Orchestra for ballet performances, concerts, orchestra competitions and auditions. His appearances as soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician include performances on Danish State Radio, and locally with the Toledo Symphony. He moved to Toledo in 2005 with his wife, a native Toledoan, and their two boys.
