The Marblehead Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the Great Lakes, has guided sailors safely along the rocky shores of Marblehead Peninsula since 1822. One of Lake Erie's best known and most-photographed landmarks, the lighthouse is one of 17 Ohio-based lighthouses on the shores of Lake Erie.

A Lake Erie tour boat heads back to port. The tourism industry along Lake Erie employs over 146,800 full-time equivalent jobs and generates over $350 million in sales tax for the state of Ohio. Visitors to the Lake Erie counties spend over $8.7 billion each year.
