The Contest Rules
The Share a Story Contest begins on May 17, 2008 and ends on June 20, 2008.
1. How To Enter
•The child tells the story, which is written down by the adult.
•The child illustrates the story – this can be one picture or many.
•The participating adult must completely fill out the entry form, sign it and mail it, along with the story and illustration to:

2. Contest
Limit one entry per participant. WGTE reserves the right to verify that each prize recipient is qualified and entitled to receive his or her prize. Submission of an Entry Form constitutes permission for WGTE to use the participants' name, likeness, biographical information, information and materials contained in the Entry Form, photographs and any statements or remarks made about the Contest for advertising and promotional purpose without additional compensation.
3. Eligibility
The contest is open to preschool children born in the years 2003, 2004 and 2005. Stories may be fact or fiction. WGTE is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected or illegible Entry Forms or unsuccessful attempts to notify the prize recipients. The Entry Form must accompany the entry and it must be signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian. If the Entry Form has not been signed, the entry will be disqualified.
4. Judging
Entries will be judged by the Ready to Learn Advisory Committee. All decisions of the judges are final and not subject to appeal
or review.
5. Prizes
Each child will receive a completion certificate. Prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third place winners in each age group (children born in 2003, 2004 and 2005) at the celebration event scheduled for Sunday, July 13, at the WGTE Studios.
6. Conditions
All Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By submitting an Entry Form, each participant (and his or her parent or guardian) agree to be bound by these Contest rules, and the decisions of WGTE are final. Each participant (and his or her parent or guardian) agrees to release and hold WGTE, its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives and its subsidiaries, parent companies or other affiliated companies harmless from any and all damages, losses, claims and/or liabilities arising out of his or her participation in the Contest or resulting from acceptance or claiming of any prize hereunder. WGTE reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to terminate, suspend or otherwise cancel the Contest at any time.
7. Use Of Information
Upon submission, each entry and the Entry Form become the sole property of WGTE Public Media. By submitting an entry and Entry Form, each participant (and his or her parent or guardian) assigns all right, title, and interest in and to the entry and Entry Form to WGTE and warrants that he or she (and his or her parent or guardian) have the authority to assign such right, title, and interest.
8. Winners
Winners will be notified by mail and posted at www.wgte.org. Winners and all participants will be recognized at the celebration event on Sunday, July 13, at the WGTE Studios.
