Daniel Dobbins

Dobbins was an accomplished sailor and ship builder.  He was witness to many of the initial U.S. losses at the beginning of the War of 1812, and led the U.S. to start building a fleet of Great Lake's ships.  Perry would later command these ships and win the Battle of Lake Erie.
