Toledo Stories: Romancing the River: A Maumee Love Story

In the summer of 2011, Steve Pollick, former Outdoors Editor for The Blade, and his team paddled the entire length of the Maumee River – four days and 122.8 miles from Fort Wayne to downtown Toledo.

Their "Fort to Port" adventure is chronicled in this compelling and beautiful new film, produced by Lou Hebert.

Also along for the expedition: Matt Horvat, Maumee River Coordinator for the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments, and well-known Black Swamp naturalist John Jaeger.

"Romancing the River: A Maumee Love Story" provides a unique perspective of the river -- through the heart of the Great Black Swamp-- from Fort Wayne's Kreager Park to Antwerp, Defiance, Grand Rapids and Toledo.
