A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Monday, December 24 at 10:00 a.m. and at 8:00 p.m.

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is the Christmas Eve service held each year since 1918 in King's College Chapel. It was first broadcast in 1928 and is now heard by millions of people around the world. The opening carol is always "Once in Royal David's City."

Over the years, the order and selection of carols has changed and some new ones introduced. The backbone of the service, the lessons and the prayers, has remained virtually unchanged. Michael Barone of "Pipedreams" hosts.
