Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan are among the areas hardest hit by the mortgage crisis. Many people can be helped if they know where to turn for trusted information. This week's program features Bill Farnsel, Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services, Mike King, Credit Counselor for Consumer Credit Counseling Services, and Lucas Rowe, Foreclosure Prevention Advocate for Empowering and Strengthening Ohio's People.

Marion was searching for better mortgage terms and saw the WGTE Town Hall: Facing the Mortgage Crisis with Bill Harris.  She found out about the services that WGTE could connect her with, and took advantage of that offer of help.

Lisa reflects on her experience attending the WGTE Facing the Mortgage Crisis Community Event.  She has always relied on WGTE for life-long learning, and is proud of WGTE's new venture, which led her to needed financial assistance and counseling.

Jennifer talks about her experience getting help negotiating with her lender through WGTE's Facing the Mortgage Crisis Community Event, a partnership with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Richard Cordray, Attorney General for the State of Ohio, gives citizens advice on avoiding mortgage fraud.  The Atorney General's Office has taken a leadership position on this issue.  WGTE produced this spot with assistance from WOSU and has shared the spot for broadcast with Ohio stations WVIZ and WCET.  This spot is a visible example of the cooperation between stations within the state when it comes to Facing ...
