Plugged-In Reporter | Katherine Colosimo
My name is Katie and I am a senior at the University of Toledo majoring in Marketing and Sales and I hope to work for an Advertising Agency upon graduation. I have kept busy on in numerous organizations such as Campus Activities and Programming, Student Council, Songfest, Student Alumni Association, The College of Republicans and on the executive board for the Dance Marathon.
I am a new alumnus to the national sorority Pi Beta Phi where I held several chairwoman positions throughout my years there. I was also nominated for Homecoming Royalty in 2006 and 2007 and I won Greek Week Queen in 2006 as well as the Talisman Rose Queen Sweetheart of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity in 2007.
I take an active role as a mentor for the youth in the Toledo Public Schools, through the sorority as part of our program call Champions Are Readers (CAR). . I was on the committee for our annual Alcohol Awareness Week where we raised money for Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) with our speakers, Mock-trial events and a Mud Volleyball Tournament on UT's campus. I have also been involved in the Children's Miracle Network through Dance Marathon with UT, and helped reach a stunning goal of over $46,000. I also participate annually with Race for the Cure and Relay for Life, where my team raised over $2,000. The March of Dimes, Halloween Walk and Girls and Boys Club are a few of the other organizations I participate in each year.
For fun I like to go shopping and I have an interest in photography as well as scrap-booking.
