WGTE's "War of 1812 in the Old Northwest" is one of the latest programs to be presented onThursday night at 8:00 p.m. in the "Toledo Stories" series. In this preview, meet Commodore Perry, an ambitious and skilled naval officer. His belief that the British could be defeated on the waters of Lake Erie was radical for his time.  The British had never surrendered a fleet up until the Battle of Lake Erie.
