Carole King: In Performance at the White House

Tuesday, May 28 at 8:00 p.m.

Carole King is this year's winner of the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.

To celebrate the singer-songwriter's legendary career, President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama host a special performance at the White House.

James Taylor, Gloria Estefan, Trisha Yearwood and UK sensation Emeli Sande are among the performers who will gather to honor King.

Carole King is the first woman to receive the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize, which honors a lifetime of achievements of artists whose work exemplifies the standard of excellence associated with George and Ira Gershwin. Some of King's greatest hits include "You've Got a Friend," "So Far Away," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," "I Feel the Earth Move," "It's Too Late" and many more.
