History Detectives: A Revolutionary Show
Saturday, July 13 at 8:00 p.m.
The detectives dig into three history mysteries with roots in the Revolutionary War.
First, does a Frederick, Maryland family actually possess an authentic portrait of the nation's first president, George Washington?
Then, we travel to Salem, Oregon, to look into the story of a Revolutionary War poem found 25 years ago hidden in an antique trunk.
Finally, a Boston woman is fascinated by an old cannon, kept in a local national park storage facility. She has heard that in 1774, members of the Boston Militia stole the cannon from the Boston Armory and hid it on her ancestor's land. Could the attempt by British forces to retrieve this and other cannons have precipitated the first battle of the Revolutionary War?
