Deadline Now: Rewriting Michigan's Constitution
Friday, October 29, 2010
Michigan's current constitution was adopted in 1963. A proposal on this week's ballot called for a new constitutional convention.
Jack Lessenberry's guests are attorney and law professor John Axe, as well as Craig Thiel, Director of State Affairs for the non-partisan Citizens Research Council of Michigan, and Tom Watkins. Watkins is the former Michigan Superintendent of Education and former Director of the Michigan Department of Health.
On November 2, Michigan voters overwhelmingly defeated the proposal.
