Local entrepreneurs have declared Toledo Code City, and schools have several opportunities this December to get kids interested in computers and technology!
December 4 -10 is Computer Science Education Week, and several area schools have signed up to do Hours of Code. There is still time to plan and list your event!
On December 2 students can also participate in Local Hack Day. Major League Hacking is celebrating technology in education through, “12 hours of hacking at a school near you!” There is an event planned at the University of Toledo and local schools are also encouraged to plan their own events. Contact Keith Instone for more information.
Interested kids aged seven to 17 can join CoderDojo Toledo, a free technology club run by volunteers in the Toledo community.
Finally, if you are a computer science teacher or an educational technologist at a northwest Ohio School, we'd love to invite you to the Tech Toledo mixer. Contact Jennifer Sader for an invitation.
