Toledo Choral Society- The First 100 Years

Thursday, September 12, at 8 p.m.

The Toledo Choral Society officially began operating in 1919 under the direction of Mrs. Mary Willing Meagley. For the next century, the organization would see three more music directors-- Lester McCoy, Sam Szor, and Richard Napierala, II - would sing in venues across Toledo and beyond, and would perform scores of oratorios, operas and more, including performing Handel's Messiah 100 times. As their 100th season approaches, take a closer look at the music, the singers and the directors that have built and sustained the Toledo Choral Society for a century.
