“Toledo Stories: The House That Love Built” tells the story Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio 

TOLEDO, OHIO – December 6, 2022 – Join WGTE Public Media as it presents Toledo Stories: The House That Love Built, a documentary about Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio. (RMHC) RMHC serves as a home away from home for families to stay when their sick children are hospitalized. It will premiere on WGTE HD on Thursday, December 8 at 8 p.m. Following the premiere on television, it will also be on our website www.wgte.org.Ronald mcdonald house

“We are thrilled to celebrate the history of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio. Since 1982, we have served over 10,000 families and have provided over 150,000 nights of stay,” states RMHC of Northwest Ohio Executive Director Chad Bringman. “Working with WGTE on this project has been very special for us as we celebrate one of our core values, valuing our heritage. WGTE has done an amazing job highlighting our organization, history and stakeholders over the past 40 years.”


The House That Love Built is a historical documentary produced by WGTE that showcases the origins of the very first house in Toledo, what went into building the grand new structure that stands on 3883 Monroe Street and looks at some of the families that this house of love has helped shape. This heartfelt documentary spotlights the storied history of an organization committed to helping families in their greatest time of need. The Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Ohio opened its doors on December 9, 1982 as a home away from home for families to stay when their sick children are hospitalized.

Toledo Stories: The House That Love Built is the 96th documentary of the Toledo Stories series. WGTE's series of remarkable television programs that celebrate and document the people, places and moments that built Northwest Ohio into the strong and vibrant region we live in.
