The Information Technology Administrator reports to the Director of Engineering Services and serves as a key staff member of that department with principal responsibility for the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and underlying communications protocols and other functional areas by providing technical and organizational support for departmental networks, servers, printers, phone system, and application resources. The Information Technology Administrator provides direct and proactive support in network hardware and server operating systems and software operations.~
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of PCs, network hardware, operating systems, and software. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and three years of relevant experience with LAN and WAN technologies, including systems configuration and support, software installation, and set-up, is preferred. However, equivalent experience in related fields and education will be considered.

The Chief Broadcast Engineer leads a department with principal responsibility for radio broadcast service (four FM radio transmitters located in Northwest Ohio); TV broadcast service (one TV transmitter); a/v engineering support for studio and field productions and editing; IT services; TV traffic services; and, facilities maintenance and planning; to lead in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our transmitter sites in order to maintain superior service in all coverage areas while complying with FCC technical requirements.
Responsibilities Include:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter, with strong time management and critical thinking skills.
An Associate’s degree in electronics technology or similar degree, plus 5-8 years of technical service in the TV Broadcasting Industry, is strongly preferred. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of technical service in the TV Broadcasting Industry, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

Certification or degree in information technologies, broadcast engineering, or a related field is preferred. Additionally, three years of experience in a technical operations field is preferred as well as a willingness to gain additional knowledge/training in the field of broadcast engineering, informational technology, and cyber security.

The WGTE Production Intern will spend the semester working with WGTE Public Media’s production crew. This unpaid internship includes the opportunity to shoot on various professional cameras, edit with the Adobe Creative Cloud software, and learn audio and lighting techniques. Interns will also join the production crew in providing live video feeds for event coverage and streaming.
