Bassist Owen Krupp is an extremely versatile and unique musician. The multi-instrumentalist and bassist of the group has an unbelievably fresh take on rhythm and groove that provides a strong ground for them to stand on while driving the music forward. Jake & the Venom's Jake Pilewski describes his music’s purpose and what it means to him and the listeners like this:
"I write and produce my music the way a film is made. Craft a story and/or emotional theme, define the overall message, and blend elements of timelessness with specific characteristics that make it mine all while hopefully providing an entertainment value to it since it truly is entertainment, be it on the surface or on a deeper level.
I often find myself writing songs that serve as an easy listen while also providing deeper philosophical traits for those who wish to dig deeper. It’s been therapeutic for me to a degree that I still believe is being explored and will continue to grow in ways that coincide with both inevitability and chance.
For my listeners, the two bits of feedback I hear most are: 1) this song feels like something I’ve known while completely new, and 2) emotional roller coaster… which is always my attention when it comes to grouping songs on any collection or album."
