When a CASA Volunteer Steps In

We're joined by our dedicated CASA Staff Attorney, Mary Meadows, for a discussion about the powerful impact CASA volunteers have in children's lives, an impact that was confirmed in the Ohio CASA Evaluation Report. The statewide study was conducted in 2023 and found that children with a CASA volunteer are almost four times more likely to be reunified with their families, ten times more likely to find a permanent placement, and far less likely to re-enter foster care after leaving. The study also showed that CASA volunteers help children get more timely health care and give them a stronger voice in the system.
